Chris A. Lanier, LCSW | Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Chris Lanier, LICSW, is a licensed clinical social worker in Washington, D.C. He earned a BA in
Sociology and a minor in Spanish from James Madison University, as well as a Master's Degree
in Social Work from the University of Iowa. Chris has been providing individual and group
psychotherapy to children, adolescents, young adults, and families for over 20 years.
Chris
worked in a separate public day facility for students with emotional differences for five years and
facilitated a parent support group prior to coming to The Lab School in 1999.
Chris specializes in areas of anxiety, ADHD, mood disorders, and dealing with family stressors
and conflict. Chris employs an individualized approach for his clients and their families, utilizing
cognitive-behavioral therapy, play therapy, and psycho-dynamic therapy interventions. In
addition, Chris values working collaboratively with each family and appreciates having regular
family meetings to ensure that progress is being made with the therapy goals.
